Q - “It looks like you can vary the resistance on the target, so that if you increase the resistance it will be harder to kick. How does it help your mechanics? Is it the follow-through that you focus on to help body mechanics? “

A - Training with KickersEdge allows the user to establish
a consistant relationship between the plant foot and the kicking
foot. Some kickers practice the kicking motion in a pool of water
to experience resistance to their kicking motion. This is good for
muscle conditioning - however it is lacking in that there is not a
point of impact. Your body mechanics may be out of line - you
may be leaning left/right or front/back and this effects kicking results.
The same goes for training with elastic cords - lack of a point of impact
makes this nothing more than a simple leg exercise .

Training with KickersEdge is more effective because it is real kicking
against a real target and includes “Variable Impact Resistance”.
The target automatically re-sets - you are able to execute one kick every
five seconds with out needing to chase after or reset a ball. Also, you are able to develop muscle memory by getting multipule reps in a short period of
time ( 120 kicks in 10 minutes ).

Q - Can I use The Kickers Edge for my Karate practice?

A - Yes. The Kickers Edge™ is ideal for karate training. Practice punch and kick techniques, sweeps and combinations - all with out the need of a training partner to hold a pad. And, unlike training with a heavy bag, the Kickers Edge™ allows you to completely follow through on your techniques. Just set the impact resistance to what is best for your skill level and practice those hook and roundhouse strikes without having to hold back. Q - I have some inconsistancies in my kick-offs , especially after kicking a field goal. How can the Kickers Edge help me?

A - Under NFL rules, field goals are kicked directly off the turf
and kick-offs are kicked off of a tee. The slight difference in the height of the
balls “sweet spot” is a likely cause of this very common problem. Some guys use a lift in their plant foot shoe to make up the difference, but that only works if you don’t allow the hip of your kicking leg to drop during your swing . Sounds like alot of extra work. One benefit of using the Kickers Edge™, is that you could go to the sideline after a game time kick and execute a few quick reps on your Kickers Edge™ trainer with the“sweet spot” target height pre-set to kick-off or field goal height - this would take the guess work out of your swing, and help you dial in your body mechanics for your next kick.
